A delicious and essential staple of the Mexican pantry, Mexican oregano is similar to European oregano but is less sweet with a slight citrus twist. Use it to flavour sauces, salsas, soups, grilled meat or fish or anywhere a hint of flavour is needed. Try adding a teaspoon of Mexican oregano and a rehydrated chilli to basic tomato sauce to add a subtle Mexican flavour.
